Audience Survey Graphs

The graph shows us that our target audience will be within 15-20 age category, representing 88% of the people who participated in our survey. The least represented age category for our film to be targeted to is equally any over 30, or under 14. This shows us that our audience will mainly be people our own age.

The chart shows that the majority of our audience will be students (87%), and not employed. This suggests our audience will have excess free time to watch films unlike those in full or part time employment. This could be misleading though as it is most likely that student would have filled out this survey as they have more free time than those in employment and are more familiar with our output (survey monkey)

This Chart shows that the majority of our audience have found films through interpersonal information (word of mouth), representing 38% of the participants. Following this category, finding films through youtube (25%) and through magazines/newspapers (23%) are the most popular categories, the most unpopular being through blogs. This shows us that to effectively advertise a film to are target audience we would have to rely on word of mouth, but could also utilise media outlets such as magazines and newspapers.

The chart shows that thrillers are the most popular genre of film with our audience, which is good as we are making a thriller so it should correlate with our audience's preferences. The least popular genre was horror, which could influence if we chose to make a thriller/horror crossover film.

Other than Romeo + Juliet, the two most popular films with 11% are both different types of thriller. Casino Royale as an action thriller, and the shining as a horror thriller. This represents that sub genres such as these are more  prominent than indie films such as Fish Tank and The Winter's Bone, suggesting it would be more agreeable to produce a thriller with action/horror elements.

The chart shows us that the majority of the participants (85%), are not dissuaded by a films certification.   This suggests that we can use a majority of elements that would require a high certification of the film without discouraging our audience

The chart shows that most people rely on their friends to recommend and be informed about films, other than following certain actors. The 2nd most popular category shows that people  also stick to specific genres when watching certain films.

The majority of participants (68%) attend the cinema at least once a month. The second largest catagory after this shows us that 26% attend rarely. This suggests that most people view films from DVDs pr pn television, and don't not regularly go to the cinema
