Original Film Proposal

Style and Tone

  • If using muted/colder tones in the majority of films, there would be flashes of colour to highlight certain aspects in shots, i.e. Schindler's List and the girl in the red coat.
  • However if a nature scene, colours should be very rich with high contrast
  • If using black and white, exploit use of low/high key lighting to create an number of effects in scenes and shadows
  • Editing would be quite fast paced, using close up and blurred contrasts to emphasise factors, possibly use some reflection shots

Location/Setting/Props

  • For nature sequences, Richmond Park would be an ideal location. It has varied environments, including forests, fields and ponds. It also includes the Deer, which would be really great to shoot so I could include wildlife into the opening.
  • If set in the city, locations would mainly be exteriors of industrial type buildings i.e. Battersea Power Station. Dilapidated wear houses, abandoned lots etc. would be used to contribute to the cold light style.
  • Locations for night shooting would have interesting/intricate lights such as the millennium bridge. This would cause the lighting of the shots to be unique and you could simple work with the lights around you without having to transport any of your own
